Objectives of this course

On completion of this CPD activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Discuss pain as a secondary health condition in people with spinal cord injuries (PWSCI), including its prevalence, causes, clinical presentation, and management.
  • Describe how pain presents in PWSCI within the South African context.
  • Describe the level of community reintegration among PWSCI in the South African context.
  • Discuss the influence of pain, particularly the type and severity, on the community reintegration of PWSCI in the South African context.
  • Compare the findings of this study with those of previous research on PWSCI.
