Objectives of this course

On completion of this CPD activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Discuss the importance of play for child development.
  • Elaborate on the difficulties children with Down syndrome experience.
  • Discuss the focus and possible settings of occupational therapy intervention for children with Down syndrome.
  • Describe the activities used in a therapeutic toy library with groups of children and pre-teens with Down syndrome.
  • Correlate activities used with children and pre-teens with Down syndrome, with the appropriate age groups.
