Objectives of this course
On completion of this CPD activity, the participant will be able to:
- Describe the prevalence, symptoms, and sequelae of major depressive disorder (MDD).
- Describe the role, goals, and treatment modalities of occupational therapy for individuals with MDD, particularly in acute mental health settings.
- Discuss the Occupational Therapy Interactive Group Model, including its development, key concepts, and constructs.
- Explain the application of the Activity Participation Outcome Model in mental health settings.
- Analyse changes in activity participation among mental health care users diagnosed with MDD who attended occupational therapy groups during their stay in an acute private mental health setting.
- Examine correlations between length of stay, number and type of groups attended, and activity participation among these mental health care users.
