Objectives of this course
On completion of this CPD activity, the participant will be able to:
- Discuss innovative ways to plan and provide rehab services in the community setting
- Give examples of social enterprises in which OTS may work
- Describe the benefits and challenges OTs may experience in working in a Social Enterprise.
- Describe the benefits involvement in social enterprises can offer service users.
- Discuss how social enterprises can impact on social and occupational injustice within communities.
- List skills OTs may need to develop in order to perform optimally within this setting.
This Hybrid Course consists of two parts:
- Video Presentation by Nabeela Laher Titled “Rehab Innovation in Low Resource Contexts”.
- Article Titled: Social enterprise: A model of recovery and social inclusion for occupational therapy practice in the UK.
Process
Grab a coffee and watch the video first. Nabeela shares her insights on the unique SA opportunity for innovation in the field of rehabilitation.
Then read the article (evidence) on Social Enterprises in the field of OT internationally.
Remember to mark each course lesson or step complete.
You may then progress to answer the quiz. You only have three attempts at the quiz, so be sure to check your answers. If you score above 70% on the Quiz, you will qualify for 3 CEUs.
