Find answers to common questions about our courses, HPCSA compliance, CPD points, and account management.
Log into your account on The OT Link website. Click on “My Account” in the top navigation bar, then select “My Account” again. Select “Profile”. Enter or edit your HPCSA number and then click “Save Profile”. If you are registered with an International Health Professions Council – you may add your registration number here as well so that your number will populate onto your CPD Certificate. You may just indicate “NA” if you are not registered with a Health Professions Council.
No. As an accredited service provider, The OT Link is responsible for submitting your CPD points directly to the HPCSA. Please do not upload the certificate yourself, as the HPCSA will reject direct uploads. Make sure your HPCSA number is correct on your profile and all course steps are marked complete. Once you can download your certificate – your CPD has been captured by our system and will be submitted to HPCSA.
We perform CPD submissions mid-month and on the first working day of each month. Once submitted, the HPCSA allows up to 14 days to verify and reflect the points on your profile.
According to HPCSA policy, OTs require a minimum of 25 Clinical CEUs and 5 Ethics CEUs, totaling 30 CEUs, for any 12-month period, on a rolling cycle, to remain compliant. CEUs are valid for 12 months from the date of course completion. Please check your CPD status on the HPCSA platform monthly, to ensure you are compliant.
Students and Community Service OTs are exempt during their training years but must be compliant by the end of their first year of independent practice.
Yes. Our courses are accredited through OTASA with full HPCSA accreditation, making points valid for any health professional registered with the HPCSA. MDT professionals should just review course objectives to ensure relevance to their scope of practice.
Note that specific workshops, such as Vona Du Toit Model or APOM training, are reserved strictly for OTs. The eligibility for these courses is marked on the specific course product page.
Due to the HPCSA accreditation process – all courses CPD accreditation will expire on 31 December of each year.
Some of our workshops and video courses will be re-accredited at the start of each year, allowing changes to the expiries on these courses. Please check each course product page for specific expiry information.
