The Activity Participation Outcome Measure (APOM) is a specialized outcome measure designed for Occupational Therapists working in Mental Health and is based on the Vona du Toit Model of Creative Ability (VdTMoCA).
This self-paced online training provides a step-by-step guide on how to correctly apply the APOM in practice, now enhanced with interactive case study videos and practical scoring exercises to deepen your learning.
Who Can Enroll?
Due to its foundation in the VdTMoCA, this course is open only to OTs with at least six months of clinical experience using the model.

The APOM software package and user manual allow you to track a client’s Activity Participation across eight domains using an 18-point scale.
This tool is ideal for OTs working in mental health across various settings, including:

✅ Mental health rehabilitation
✅ Substance abuse centers
✅ Community mental health services
✅ Forensic settings
✅ Residential care facilities
✅ Geriatrics
OTs applying the VdTMoCA in neuro or physical rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation and FCE may also find it valuable, though validation for these fields is still ongoing.
