This concise 2-hour course offers practical insights into ADHD in adults. It covers the background, neurology, diagnosis, and common presenting difficulties of ADHD, along with their impact on home management, work, relationships, and sleep. Jacqui uses Brown’s Model of Executive Function to frame the key challenges faced by individuals with ADHD and presents actionable strategies for addressing six main clusters of dysfunction. These strategies are complemented by tools for reshaping thoughts and behavioural scripts. This well-rounded course is packed with clinical insights and strategies, making it particularly valuable for occupational therapists working in mental health and vocational rehabilitation.

Jacqui specializes in the assessment and treatment of adolescents and adults with psychiatric conditions. She conducts vocational, sensory and functional assessments and therapy, geared towards improving functioning in work, studies and lifestyle management. After graduating Cum Laude from the University of Pretoria in 2011, she worked at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital (CHBAH) for three years where she was awarded the CHBAH’s OT of the Year Award in 2013. She has trained and supervised occupational therapy students and served as an executive committee member of Psychiatric OT’s (POTS) for three years. As an Adult and Adolescent Sensory Intelligence practitioner, she assists individuals who experience difficulties processing sensory information (auditory, tactile, movement, smell, taste, visual) to manage these difficulties and to improve their ability to cope in work, home and school environments.
